American Legion
American Legion baseball provides a way for older athletes who attend Roseville schools or live in the Roseville school district to continue playing baseball. We have two teams, Junior and Senior, that begin playing after the high school season is complete. See below for more details.
When
Tryouts are held the last Sunday in April, with a fallback day of the first Sunday in May in case of bad weather.
20-25 games are played in June and July on a varying schedule Monday - Thursday.
An end-of-year tournament is held the last full week in July.
Where
Games are held in the Twin Cities metro with one out-of-town tournament. Home games and practices are at the Rosetown American Legion Post 542 in Roseville.
Costs
Tryouts: $25
Registration: $400
Additional Costs: Each player is asked to sell 20 raffle tickets (total $100) to pay for team equipment and baseballs.
Provided Equipment
Hat, socks, belts and jerseys are provided (jerseys are returned at the end of each season). Players should purchase their own white baseball pants.
Junior Legion - 17U
The Junior Legion team is for players 17 and under. Players rostered on a high school team are not eligible for Junior Legion until their high school season is over, which includes sections or the state tournament.
This team will roster 18 members to allow players to maintain jobs or other activities.
This team has a paid coach and parent volunteers for jobs like running Game Changer and keeping the scorebook. Players from this team are occasionally called up to the Senior Legion team due to injury or illness on that team.
This year's out-of-town tournament is June 6-8, 2025 in Rochester.
Senior Legion - 19U
The Senior Legion team is for players 19 and under. Players rostered on a high school team are not eligible for Senior Legion until their high school season is over, which includes sections or the state tournament.
This team will roster 18 members to allow players to maintain jobs or other activities.
This team has paid coaches and parent volunteers for jobs like running Game Changer and keeping the scorebook.
The Senior Legion team will play two games at CHS Field in St. Paul. This team plays in the 4th Legion District.
This year's out-of-town tournament is June 26-29, 2025 in New Ulm.
2025
Registration for Legion tryouts will open April 1.
Tryouts are April 27, 2025 at the Rosetown American Legion.
