Helmet Requirement
All RAYB players at all levels of play are required to provide their own batting helmet.
Batting helmets can be purchased at local sporting goods stores and range from $15 to $80. We encourage families to buy black or dark blue helmets.

Glove Requirement
All RAYB players at all levels of play are required to provide their own glove.

Bat Standards
Each RAYB team is provided at least one team bat that complies with league rules. While many players like to have their own bat, and learning to hit with the new bats will help with off-season training, RAYB participants are never required to purchase their own bat.

Each league has the following bat standards (as of September 2021):
- Rookie - There is no bat size requirement for the Rookie League
- C League - There is no bat size requirement for C League; wood bats are not allowed
- B League - Bats must not be more than 36 inches long and not more than 2 ¼ inches in diameter for small barrel bats or 2 ¾ inches for large barrel bats; all bats should have the USSSA 1.15 BPF fingerprint
- A League - Bats must meet the BBCOR bat regulations (or USSSA or USA Baseball approved) and the bat weight to length differential must be:
- Big Barrel Bats (larger than 2-1/4” dia) weight to length differential must be -10 or heavier
- Small Barrel Bats (2-1/4” dia) weight to length differential is unlimited
- Jr. Rec - Bats must meet the BBCOR bat regulations (or USSSA approved), with a weight to length differential of -5 or -3, as referenced in the MYAS Bat Standards guidelines for 14's and 14/15A
- Sr. Rec - Bats must meet the BBCOR bat regulations (or USSSA approved), with a weight to length differential of -3, as referenced in the MYAS Bat Standards guidelines for 15’s, 14/15A, 16U, & 17-19U
- Travel - Visit MYAS Bat Standards for approved bats at each travel age level
Batting Gloves
Use of batting gloves is completely optional and is entirely based on player preference.
